ROGERS – Seniors at Haas Hall Academy Rogers were the first to embark on a new school tradition: painting their parking spaces as a way to leave their mark.
The Class of 2025 came together in September to use their creativity to paint parking spots in front of the new campus, and six months later, the memory is still there.
“It was also a really nice experience that helped kick off my last year of high school to a great start,” explained Bethany Sistoso.
Seniors bonded over their last memories in high school while listening to music, eating doughnuts, and painting their design.
Tegan Houk said she enjoyed the experience too.
“It felt like our way of saying, ‘Hey we made it,’” she said.
Of the 37 seniors, about 20 participated. They designed parking spots that were approved by Headmaster Bethany Culpepper. They also chose paints and materials for their designated spaces.
Scholars expressed that this was a way for them to use their creativity and do something that has never been done before.
“Like a fun way to tell my story in a single painted square,” described Houk.
Sistoso agreed. “I could use my own parking space as my creative outlet,” she said.
Houk also expressed that the seniors hope this inspires future classes to paint their own spaces.
“The idea of sparking future creativity for seniors is more exciting,” said Houk.
