ROGERS – Prom season is here, and scholars are searching for their unique outfits to make a statement on one of the most exciting nights of the year at Haas Hall Academy.
Joanna McAffee, a junior, found Pinterest to be a helpful resource when deciding on her look.
“Pinterest was a good inspiration,” she shared. “I needed to think about it, though. Strapless dresses mostly. I think that cheetah print is a trend that will leave.”
While McAffee found inspiration online, she also had to balance her personal preferences with the struggle of coordinating with her date.
But not everyone finds inspiration from online.
Kaitie Helt, a junior, said, “There weren’t really any challenges when I picked this dress because when I tried it on I immediately knew it was the dress I wanted.”
For Jerry Oria, prom fashion presents a different dilemma.
“As a man, I think it’s not easy to stand out with a tux,” said Oria, a junior. “Colors don’t really matter. I think that it is important to match with your date.” While he enjoys the idea of dressing up, he emphasizes that the experience of being at prom is more important than the fashion itself.
But what trends are happening outside Haas Hall Academy?
Noted by LaFemme, a notable formal wear shop, metallics and corseted dresses are trending in highschools across the states. Modern elements are being added into “traditional and vintage” inspired dresses. For tuxedos, unique textures like velvet and satin lapels are prominent as claimed by TeenVogue.
With online inspiration drawn, personal preferences, and the desire to match with their dates, Haas Hall scholars are shaping the prom fashion trends of 2025 into their own view.
Whether it’s an eye-catching gown or a classic tuxedo, the night promises to be a showcase of individual style, creativity, and celebration.
