Scholars look forward to displays of talent and engaging in recreational sports during a field trip to the Jones Center

On April 8th nearing the end of the school year, Haas Hall Rogers scholars will head for the Jones Center in Springdale for an all-day event. It will be a day off from the stresses of school and homework to allow the students to have fun.
The day is split up into two parts. The first half of the day will be dedicated to the talent show while the second allows students to roam the Jones Center and engage in multiple fun activities. The annual talent show will be held in the chapel. There will be many acts, ranging from recurring ones (like the student rock band Bassically a Band) to new talents from every grade (like a magic/singing act). After the performances, free pizza will be provided for every scholar. At the end of lunch, students can try out different parts of the Jones Center like the ice skating rink, basketball court, or swimming lanes. Each activity ranges from $5-8 in price.
With such a big event on the horizon, excitement is through the roof. Seniors Vlad Thompson and Jozie Moll from the scholar council provided their comments. “I’m excited to see the abilities of Haas’ scholars and to have fun recreationally,” Thompson stated. Moll said that she is “excited to see everyone get together and enjoy themselves without academic pressures.”
Even better for those wishing for a break from the regular routine, scholars are not required to arrive in full uniform. They may wear jeans and a Haas Hall T-shirt of their choice. This year marks the first year in which Haas Hall Academy Rogers joins the other Haas Hall campuses in the tradition of field day at the Jones Center. Hopefully it will be a fun custom that continues for years to come.
