Ms. Comer praised for her kindness and dedication to students

Ms. Comer, an English teacher at Haas Hall Academy Rogers, was recently selected as the KLRC Teacher of the Week—a program that highlights educators who make a meaningful impact on their students. The recognition is announced every Monday during the KLRC morning show and includes a $50 gift card from Mardel Christian & Education.
Students say Comer stands out because of the supportive environment she creates in her classroom. According to Samara, a sophomore who nominated her, Comer goes out of her way to help students feel confident and capable in their learning.
Samara shared that Comer explains lessons patiently and without judgment, helping students feel comfortable asking questions. She also keeps her classroom engaging through activities such as trivia games and small rewards that celebrate good behavior and effort.
Another feature students appreciate is the classroom “fridge,” a display where students can post drawings, accomplishments, or work they are proud of. The board allows students to celebrate their achievements and share them with classmates, helping build a positive classroom community.
Students say Comer also checks in regularly to make sure everyone is doing well both academically and personally. Because of this, many students feel safe, supported and encouraged in her class.
Through her dedication to teaching and genuine care for her students, Comer has made a lasting impact at Haas Hall Academy. The KLRC Teacher of the Week recognition highlights the difference teachers like her make in the lives of their students every day.
