ROGERS – The Lady Danes Cheer Team is entering a new chapter with recently elected captain, Valentina Tulbure.
Tulbure, a junior at Haas Hall Academy Rogers, was selected to take over next season’s squad by senior Hadley Clark, the 2024-2025 Cheer Captain.
According to Clark, Tulbure is “the perfect fit.”
“Val was always first to everything,” said Clark. “She was first to learn the dance, first to perfect her timing, first to practice. Val has always been super sweet and willing to help. I don’t think I heard her complain once all year.”
Tulbure says she’s aiming high with performance standards and promoting teamwork and enthusiasm among her teammates.
“As a captain there is always the challenge of making sure the girls are having fun and enjoying what they are doing,” said Tulbure.
“I’d like for the girls to have more group bonding activities so the girls can be comfortable with each other,” added Tulbure.
She also expressed interest in incorporating new choreography while keeping the same style and sportsmanship of captains before her.
The 2024-2025 Co-Captain Viktoria Buckman also expressed confidence in Tulbure’s ability to lead, highlighting her dedication and commitment to the team.
“Valentina has shown great sportsmanship,” said Buckman. “I could brag about how much I have seen her grow.”
Buckman noted Tulbure’s determination and preparation, saying she constantly arrives at practices ready to perform, while dedicating time outside of class to master choreography.
“Seeing how much work she has put into dance and cheer are qualities that make me see her as the right fit for the position,” Buckman said.
Looking ahead, Tulbure hopes that the team will continue to develop their skills while enjoying the experience.
“Making sure they get encouragement is one of my many goals for this upcoming season that I hope will leave a mark on their future,” said Tulbure.
