‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Elevates Franchise to Greatness

People have often dismissed Thor as the least impressive Marvel franchise. It lacks the charismatic star of “Iron Man” and the nostalgic oddity of “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Unfortunately, viewers say there was almost nothing distinctive about the first two “Thor” movies aside from their usage of Norse mythology. “Thor: Ragnarok,” however, absolutely destroys its predecessors in terms of quality, and I cannot exaggerate enough how fun the movie is from start to finish.

‘American Made’

The recent film “American Made” is based on a true story about Barry Seal, a pilot who doubles as a drug-smuggler and CIA arms-trader, using the airfield at Mena, Arkansas, to transport illegal narcotics into the country for the murderous Medellin Cartel of Colombia. 

Texting While Driving: A Dangerous Epidemic

When Liz Marks was 17 years old, she crashed into a truck while texting and driving. On April 17, 2012, according to the Daily Mail, Marks was airlifted to the intensive care unit where she underwent several surgeries. Marks now is blind in her left eye, but she also cannot smell, hear well or fall asleep naturally. The most critical side effect to Marks, however, was the loss of all of her friends.

The word fashion is rarely synonymous with words like compelling and intelligent; instead, it is more often associated with frivolous or shallow. However, a common definition of art is something that adheres to an aesthetic criterion. Any fashion show would certainly fit into this category with a major emphasis on all things beautiful. Yet, clearly there is a difference between Michelangelo’s “Pietà” and Rihanna’s recent BMX-inspired Fenty x Puma show. So where do we draw the line between art and fashion?
