FAYETTEVILLE — As with all homecomings, Haas Hall Academy Fayetteville’s was one filled with school spirit, teamwork and camaraderie. At this year’s homecoming, Haas Hall Academy played against Greenland High School. Perhaps the most quintessential part of homecoming, however, is the court. Seniors Owen Young and Casey Wong were crowned king and queen for the Fayetteville campus.
Though Jordan Lim is the art instructor at Haas Hall Academy Springdale, it wasn’t at all obvious to her in her youth that she would end up in this position. “I probably should have realized that I was passionate about art and creativity much earlier than I did,” Lim said. “It wasn’t until college, though, that I considered pursuing an art-related career. I approached art in a more non-traditional way throughout high school with different extra-curricular activities like music, publications and theater.”

Jeong Ho Jang, more commonly known as Xavier Holmes, has brought new life to a Haas Hall Academy family through the Rotary Youth Exchange program and has made a vibrant addition to the school community. The idea came from Samantha Giudice, a Haas Hall scholar currently studying in Taiwan, who needed host families at Haas Hall so that she could enroll in the program.
The old cliché “broaden your horizons” typically refers to trying out a new hobby, not moving halfway across the globe. However, for Haas Hall Academy Fayetteville junior Samantha Giudice, who is spending the next 10 months studying in southern Taiwan, that is not the case.
Haas Hall Academy Rogers scholars and their families dressed as superheroes and gathered at the historic campus to attend the first of many library fundraisers.
The freshmen of Haas Hall Academy’s Fayetteville, Springdale and Bentonville campuses came together on Oct. 17 for a trip to Luther George Park and to watch a play. The play was an adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Sense and Sensibility” put on by the Arts Center of the Ozarks (ACO) in Springdale.
