The Gilder Lehrman Institute recognized Haas Hall Fayetteville history teacher Rebecca Moll as the 2017 Arkansas History Teacher of the Year. Moll was first introduced to the Gilder Lehrman Institute in the summer of 2016 at their learning institute at the University of Texas at Austin. She was nominated in the fall of 2016 and was informed of her victory last summer but received her award in a special ceremony at the Haas Hall Academy Fayetteville campus with the Arkansas Department of Education on Nov. 14.
Jeong Ho Jang, more commonly known as Xavier Holmes, has brought new life to a Haas Hall Academy family through the Rotary Youth Exchange program and has made a vibrant addition to the school community. The idea came from Samantha Giudice, a Haas Hall scholar currently studying in Taiwan, who needed host families at Haas Hall so that she could enroll in the program.
